Random Number 1–1000
A thousand-wide range for bigger pools: large raffles, sample selection, test data and tie-breaking across long lists. Preset to 1–1000, fully adjustable, and even across the whole range.
Why the wide ranges are the real test
Modulo bias grows with range size, and 1–1000 is where careless generators start to measurably favour low numbers. This engine draws two bytes per number — a space of 65,536 — and accepts only values below 65,000, which is exactly 65 complete sets of 1,000. The 536 values above that line are redrawn. Every number in the range keeps exactly 65 ways to occur, whether it is 7 or 997.
For bulk test data, generate a batch of up to 10,000 and download it as a text file from the buttons above the results. Drawing winners from a list of names instead? Use the name picker. Need decimals rather than whole numbers? The decimal generator covers that.
FAQ
- How many numbers can I pull in one batch?
- Up to 10,000. With "No duplicates" ticked, that is also a fully shuffled sample of the range ten times over — every value unique within the batch is capped by the range itself, so 1,000 is the most unique values this range can give.
- Are duplicate values normal?
- Yes — with duplicates allowed, repeats are expected and healthy. In 1,000 draws from 1–1000, most values appear about once, some twice, and many not at all. A batch with no repeats at all would be the suspicious one.
